This is the same Impala as in the previous photo. This shot was taken about five minutes after the previous. The car was passing by where I stood and the operator of the hydraulics was shifting the cars position. Suddenly the rear-end fell to the bottom and the guy jumped out of the car, walked back and popped the trunk to look at something. On a lowrider, the trunk is usually storage for batteries and electronics – when he opened the trunk thick black smoke billowed out and something had obviously gone awry. Sparks were flying and I move closer to get a good shot. This shot was the best, his face is illuminated by the flying sparks as he poured his cider (!) onto what was probably burning embers.
