Burning Snow

Last night was the inauguration ceremonies for the European Capital of Culture 2014 which happens to be the sleepy little town I live in. I went to the ceremony which was called “Burning Snow” and tried shooting it as well as watching it. It was quite a show but sadly the planning of said event from a spectators point of view was poorly executed and it was nigh impossible to see anything. I managed to grab a few snapshots and this one turned out mostly okay. It’s from the climax of the process when a large bonfire symbolizing snow (I guess?) was set on fire.
