This is my girlfriend. This is also one of the best (if not _THE_ best) portrait I’ve ever taken. We were out shooting some headshots for her CV. She wanted some “professional” style headshots which I am terrible at since I always want to photograph a person, not just do some cookie-cutter type shake-and-bake photography. We ended up with some portraits and headshots we were happy with but this one is far and away the best of the bunch. This is why I love doing portraits and why I want to do more – because when it turns out good, it turns out great. Not only do you capture a persons appearance but also his/her personality and quirks. This photo is not just a portrait of a loved person, this is a portrait of a person with warmth and happiness inside her. I love it and I love her.
